    The SWCOEH (www.swcoeh.org) sponsors a Pilot/Small Projects Research Training Program to improve workplace health and safety. The SWCOEH is a National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) Education and Research Center at the UTHealth School of Public Health (Grant No. T42 OH008421). The goal of this program is to provide support to new investigators and attract established investigators to the field of occupational health and safety, ultimately leading to new externally-funded research. Project Principal Investigators should be full-time faculty or doctoral students within Public Health Region 6 (Arkansas, Louisiana, New Mexico, Oklahoma and Texas).   • Institutional CPRIT Deadlines Extended

    CPRIT funding opportunities now have institutional submission limits. In order to submit a grant to one of them, you must first submit a biosketch and one-page abstract to Erica Huff by 5:00 p.m. on October 31, 2018. These initial submissions will be reviewed by the Grant Review and Oversight (GRO) Committee. Those selected will be notified in time to write a full proposal to submit to CPRIT.     The UTMB Shipping Program was reviewed and revised. Under the new Shipping Program appropriately trained research, clinical, and support staff may ship biological material domestically. Radioactive, chemical and select agent samples must have Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) approval to be shipped. All international shipment of biological material must be coordinated with the Office of Transfer Technology (OTT) and EHS prior to shipping.
