The First Research Quarterly Update from Chief Research Officer Randall Urban, MD happened on Tuesday, November 27 and if you missed it - YOU missed a lot!

Dr. Urban introduced the chief research administration team, stated his yearly goals and updated those involved in the Research Enterprise on what had been happening over the past 11 months.  

John States, VP Financial Accounting and Reporting gave an update on the first Research and Development Cluster compliance audit since the issuance of the new guidelines 2 CFR 200, compared research expenditures for the past two years and explained the new micro-purchase threshold.  Did you know, as of July 31, 2018, bids are not required for purchases under $15,000?

Dr. Rebeca Wong, PMCH and Internal Medicine presented the Research STAR Award to  Alejandra Michaels Obregon, MA, MBA.  STAR stands for Support, Teamwork, and Attitude Recognition which Dr. Wong stated that Ms. Michaels Obregon personified.  Also recognized were new grant awards, publishing achievements and new research faculty.
