It is becoming more frequent that for-profit entities are funding non-profit organizations to circumvent paying standard industry fees (IRB fees) and overhead to UTMB. In these cases, the “non-profit” is providing services typical of a Clinical Research Organization (CRO). The new UTMB Industry Funded Fee Policy clarifies when industry fees apply.
