Antimicrobial Resistance Seminar, April 1
Warren Rose, PharmD, MPH, University of Wisconsin-Madison School of Pharmacy will be the speaker for our April 1 seminar. Save the Date: GCC Innovative Drug Discovery and Development Kickoff Mini-Symposium, May 7
The Innovative Drug Discovery and Development (IDDD) Consortium (formerly Chemical Genomics) invites you to join us for the kick-off of our new program and focus on supporting therapeutics advancement from discovery, through development, and to the clinic. Speakers include Michelle Arkin (UCSF and President, Academic Drug Discovery Consortium), Connie Coulomb (Coulomb Strategy Consulting), Casey Cunningham (Santé Ventures), Philip Jones (MD Anderson and Institute for Applied Cancer Science), Gregory Stein (Curtana Pharmaceuticals), and Neil Warma (BioHealth Care). The event will begin at 8:45 am (breakfast at 8:15), and topics that will be discussed in the morning sessions include 1) What are investors and/or pharma looking for in therapeutics? 2) How do they identify a good drug candidate? 3) What does it take to develop a successful therapeutic? 4) What can go wrong (challenges)? and 5) thoughts on and advice for moving academic discoveries into the clinic. The lunch session will feature short introductions to the shared cores within the GCC IDDD network, and will be followed by onsite visits to several of the cores (transportation provided for those who sign up). Save the date: Scientific Data Integrity Workshop, July 24
One in the series of the GCC Rigor and Reproducibility (RR) Program targeted modules, this workshop is designed to cover fundamental elements necessary to help assure the quality and integrity of data derived from research studies. The workshop will review best practices for documentation of research activities, data capture, data (and document) management, and introduce risk mitigation strategies to enhance study reproducibility. A combination of mini lectures, case studies, and group exercises will comprise the activities. Knowledge gained will allow attendees to implement lessons learned within their research environment as elements of a quality system or internal to an individual research project.
