The University of Texas System Health Biobank (UTSHB) Consortium is an initiative by The University of Texas System Administration Office of Health Affairs. The initiative is designed to raise awareness of biospecimens and related data consented for sharing across UT institutions as well as to facilitate the exchange of biospecimens and related data. The UTSHB Consortium also provides a set of standard operating procedures, a definition of common data elements used in the system, an informed consent template, and a REDCap template. In addition, a biobank maturity model is currently being finalized and will be made available via the UTSHB Consortium website soon.
The following web-based training sessions are currently scheduled (additional sessions will be added as needed):
- December 19th 9 AM - 10 AM
- January 8th 1 PM - 2 PM
- January 16th Noon - 1 PM
Major goals of the initiative are to enable sharing collection inventories, standardizing future biospecimens and data collection, and creating cost-effective and automated best-practices for biobank operations across all participating UTSHB Consortium institutions.
Please see the UTSHB Consortium website for training session details. Additional questions can be directed to Jeff Rando.
