Research Coordinator Support Services (RCSS)

RCSS Services

Trained study coordinators are available for contract through the RCSS in accordance with all appropriate Research Services policies, fees, and scheduling requirements.  A request for support is submitted by the requesting department to the RCSS Nurse Manager and a meeting is set to assess the needs and expectations for the work requested prior to assignment. Prior to initiating service, investigators sign the Research Coordinator Support Service Level Agreement.

The RCSS is an internal resource for the conduct of clinical research comprising a staff of trained research coordinators and nurses who provide clinical research support services to researchers at UTMB spanning the study life cycle from study start-up to study closure. Our primary objective is to foster the advancement of medicine and the development of improved therapeutic approaches in partnership with our physicians and clients. We exist to provide the needed administrative, coordination, staffing, and regulatory support to assist the investigator in this endeavor. Using our services, investigators can quickly implement research studies without the administrative burden associated with training and managing research staff or the costs of providing office space and associated systems.
