Effort Reporting Training

Training is an essential part of understanding roles and responsibilities of Effort Reporting.  Training is required for all Primary Individuals (PI), Supporting Individuals (SI) and Effort Coordinators per IHOP Effort Reporting Policy 04.05.08.

For Lead Effort Coordinator (LEC) or Effort Coordinator (EC) training:

  • Send and email to Heidi Lutz and CC Effort at ecrtutmb.edu to request training.  Be specific on the type of training you need (LEC or EC).
  • Next have your trusted requestor submit a request for access and the departments access is needed for.  This should be done very soon as that is needed to set up the employees training profile.
  • Training for LEC/EC's is virtual through Teams with Heidi Lutz and a member of the Effort Team.
  • Once training is complete the Effort Team will update the employee's eCRT profile providing the requested access.

Training for PI/SI's is online and can be taken from any type of device with an internet connection.  Please note, per IHOP Effort Reporting Policy 04.05.08, employees have 30 days from starting with UTMB or from their first sourcing to sponsored projects.  This is a one-time training for PI/SI's.

  • Click on the link below for instructions to self-assign the training.
  • Complete the training online and get the completion certificate at the end.
  • Take a screen shot of the completion certificate and email it to ecrtutmb@utmb.edu.  Request that your ECRT profile be updated as either a Primary Individual or Supporting Individual.
  • Effort will respond once the access has been granted.
