ITS Pilot Funding Available for Clinical & Translational Pilot Projects

Award Period: April 1, 2021 – March 31, 2022

Up to three awards of $10,000 - $25,000 each are available to support investigator-initiated studies that have the potential to develop into clinical trials. These awards provide funding and expertise to research at any point along the translational spectrum (preclinical research, clinical research, clinical implementation, public health, https://ncats.nih.gov/translation/spectrum), with the goal of catalyzing a larger, extramurally funded study. Projects can include animal studies, preclinical trials, or testing of diagnostics or therapeutics.

The Institute for Translational Sciences is offering the funds, along with access to their clinical and translational resources, to investigators with a track record of translational activity and outcomes. Applicants are encouraged to:

  • Include team members from multiple departments or schools
  • Involve both basic scientists with clinicians
  • Engage both senior and junior investigators

Apply by January 25, 2021, using the instructions in the attached RFA or on our website at: https://utmb.us/4jt.
