The CDMRP released four (4) more FY 19 Program Funding Opportunities this week. They include:
Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis Research Program,
Breast Cancer Research Program, and
Combat Casualty Care Research Program. The funding mechanisms are as follows.
Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis Research Program
Therapeutic Development Award
Support for independent investigators at all levels for research on the post-discovery, preclinical development of therapeutics for ALS.

Distinguished Investigator Award
At or above the level of Assistant Professor (or equivalent) and be more than 6 years beyond their last mentored position as of the application submission
deadline. Supports established visionary leaders from any field to pursue innovative ideas that could accelerate progress toward ending breast cancer.

Breakthrough Fellowship Award
As of the application submission deadline, all eligible PIs must have:
• Successfully completed the requirements for a doctoral or medical degree, and
• Been in the laboratory or clinical research setting in which the proposed research is to be performed for no more than 2 years, and
• A total of less than 4 years’ experience in a postdoctoral fellowship or mentored clinical research training program (excludes any clinical residency or fellowship training).
Supports exceptionally talented, “best and brightest” recent doctoral or medical graduates in pursuit of innovative, high-impact breast cancer research.

Combat Casualty Care Research Program
FY19 Multi-Domain Lifesaving Trauma Innovations (MuLTI) Award
Independent investigators at all academic levels (or equivalent). Supports development of highlight innovative materiel products and new ways, methods, or modifications of existing trauma practice (i.e., knowledge products) for future multi-domain operations (MDO) where evacuation capabilities may be significantly delayed or unavailable.
