Keck Seminar November 30

The last seminar of the semester, November 30, will feature:  Meng Wang, Baylor College of Medicine, presenting Messenger Metabolites in the Longevity Regulation, & Buck Samuel, Baylor College of Medicine, presenting Cultivating Relationships: Genetic Landscapes that Shape Microbiome Form and Function. Research Mentor Training Workshop for Postdocs and Research Staff, Dec. 12 

This workshop is designed for postdocs and research staff to develop skills and insight in mentoring young scientists and to provide the opportunity for interactions between mentors at different institutions and in different disciplines. Facilitators are Vikki McDonnell and Bob Tillman, both master trainers with the National Research Mentoring Network. Time:  9:30 am - 3:00 pm; lunch will be provided.  Location: BioScience Research Collaborative, Event Hall,  6500 Main Street. Registration is full. Facilitating Research Mentor Training: Learn to be a Facilitator for a Mentor Training Workshop, Dec. 13

Share your knowledge and experience with postdocs who are learning to be good mentors!  This workshop is for those interested in learning to be a facilitator for Mentor Training Workshops for Postdocs.  Open only to current or recent postdocs and PhD research staff who have completed a Research Mentor Training workshop (including those who take the Dec. 12 workshop, see above). Facilitators are Vikki McDonnell and Bob Tillman, both master trainers with the National Research Mentoring Network. Vikki and Bob do a great job of training and helping others to co-facilitate these workshops. Time:  10:00 am - 3:30 pm; lunch will be provided.  Location: BioScience Research Collaborative, Event Hall,  6500 Main Street. Spaces are limited.
