The McLaughlin Fellowship Fund Committee and the Institute for Human Infections and Immunity are pleased to announce that the Annual IHII/McLaughlin Colloquium will take place from 1 to 5:15 PM on March 22, 2007 in Levin Hall. This year’s event will include Poster Presentations by UTMB trainees in infectious diseases and immunology, a Keynote Address by Dr. Robert Lanford from the Southwest Foundation for Biomedical Research, San Antonio, TX, and Short Presentations by selected trainees supported by UTMB’s training grants in infectious diseases and immunology.
Medical Students, as well as all predoctoral, postdoctoral and clinical fellows engaged in infection and immunity research are invited to submit abstracts of their work for the Colloquium’s poster session. Abstracts are due March 2 by 5 PM. Posters will be presented for judging prior to the public poster session). At the end of the Colloquium (5 to 5:15 PM), the McLaughlin Fellowship Fund will award 8-10 $750 travel awards for the best poster presentations; awardees must be present to receive these awards. A small number of trainees will be selected ahead of the colloquium to make Short Presentations based on their Abstracts. These trainees will only be eligible for travel awards if they make poster presentations, and the travel awards will be based on poster judging, not their oral presentations.
