Postdoctoral Applications
All applications for McLaughlin fellowships are subject to extensive peer review, and must adhere to the required format and length.
All
applicants must have a UTMB mentor, who will assume scientific and ethical responsibility for
the conduct of the research project and training of the fellows. The mentor and faculty of the
Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences are responsible for developing a training environment
for all McLaughlin pre-doctoral fellows. Likewise, the mentor must provide suitable research
laboratory space for the McLaughlin post-doctoral fellow to conduct his/her scientific
investigation. Should problems between McLaughlin fellows and faculty mentors arise that
might hinder the fellow’s training, the McLaughlin Committee would evaluate the matter and
take action to protect the rights of both the fellow and faculty member.
