Karthika Perumal joined UTMB in 2001 as a Technology Manager and is responsible for managing the technologies that originate with UTMB faculty and staff. She has experience in technology assessment, patent portfolio development and in negotiation of cash and equity-based license transactions.  Her scientific expertise includes the areas of molecular pharmacology, cell signaling and post-transcriptional gene regulation. She holds a bachelors degree in Industrial Biotechnology from Anna University, Chennai, India and Ph.D. in Pharmacology from the Baylor College of Medicine, Houston, Texas.
