IACUC Meeting Dates and Deadlines
NEW protocol submissions must be received by 5:00 PM on the first working day of the month for consideration during the monthly review. New protocols are reviewed during the meeting of the Pre-Review Group.
The Quorum of the committee meets twice monthly. Submissions (New protocols, Triennial Renewals, Continuing Renewals and Significant change amendments) recommended for approval by the reviewers must be presented and approved by a majority of the members present during this meeting to receive approval.
Minor amendments as described in IACUC Policy #6 will be approved upon recommendation of approval by both member reviewers.
The IACUC office forwards renewal notices to the Principal Investigator beginning at 75 days from the projects expiration date. Notices are then forwarded every 15 days thereafter until either a submission is received or the expiration date has past.
- Renewals should be submitted at least 45 days prior to the expiration date.
- Triennial renewals not receiving IACUC approval before expiration date will become “Not-Approved” and all animal work will stop.
- Response to an IACUC “Requires Modification to Secure Approval” letter must be received by the office within 60 days of notification or the administrative process for the submission will cease.
